Overview

Responsibilities

THIS IS A CASUAL POSITION WORKING A MAXIMUM OF 900 HOURS PER CALENDAR YEAR.

 

The Organizational Development Intern will support leadership development efforts by conducting focus groups, gathering insights on employee engagement, and developing strategies to strengthen new hire connection to the mission. This role provides hand-on experience in understanding how leadership practices impact culture and employee engagement, especially during the first 90 days of employment. 

 

This internship is available:

  • North Las Vegas, Nevada

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design, coordinate, and facilitate focus groups to gather employee insights on engagement and onboarding experiences.
  • Analyze data from focus groups to identify themes and recommend strategies for leaders to improve new hire engagement.
  • Develop a proposal with actionable recommendations for leadership development to enhance employee connection to the mission.

  • August 8th, 2025 - Summer internship Student Program ends. 

Qualifications

Due to the nature of our work, US Citizenship is required for all positions.

  • Completion of the first year in a undergraduate degree program in psychology, human resources, organizational development or related field at an accredited institution, as of the date application is submitted.
  • Must be actively enrolled in school, as of the date application is submitted.
  • Must have and maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, as of the date application is submitted.
  • Must be located in the contiguous United States.
  • Must have:
    • Planning/organizing skills
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Strong data analysis and presentation skills, experience with qualitative research methods is a plus.
    • Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and demonstrate professionalism when interacting with employees and leaders.
    • Ability to follow directions, both written and verbal, and able to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Proficiency with M365 products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams and OneNote).
  • Technically savvy and ability to learn and use software such as SharePoint, LinkedIn Learning admin, Qualtrics, Power BI, MS Planner, ServiceNow, etc. 
  • Experience with project management (working on projects, reporting).
  • A pre-placement drug screen is required. MSTS maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.

 

Ability to obtain a HSPD-12 Personal Identity Verification credential under the Department of Energy Order 206.2, ‘Identity, Credential, and Access Management,’ and Supplemental Directive NNSA SD 206.2, ‘Implementation of Personal Identity Verification for Uncleared Contractors.’

Hourly range for this position is $15.00 - $22.46.

 

Starting salary is determined based on the position market value, the individual candidate education and experience and internal equity.
