Responsibilities

As a PULSE Maintenance Supervisor II, you will be expected to model company values and to supervise bargaining resources effectively and efficiently.  The Supervisor II is responsible for scheduling, coordinating and supervising bargaining employee activities, and training. This may involve supervising one or more trade groups and/or subcontractors at the PULSE nuclear facility sites. An ability to clearly communicate both orally and written with employees, managers, and customers are key responsibilities for this position. You will work closely with your Maintenance Facility Managers regarding all maintenance activities.  At MSTS, Supervisors are encouraged to keep all lines of communication open with Managers and Program Managers.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Directly supervise individual contributors, including approving time, conducting performance evaluations, and participating in the recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training of staff.
  • Establish activity level work assignments and, or work projects, layout projects for building locations and site work.
  • Supervise Wiremen and other assigned bargaining employees.
  • Work closely with the General foreman to track and approve bargaining personnel work hours weekly ensuring time is charged accurately.
  • Implement and follow company policies, procedures and directives.
  • Organize and supervise day-to-day operations, ensuring that schedules are kept.
  • Monitor performance against metrics and goals as established/approved by others.
  • Coordinate all maintenance activities.
  • Ensure work packages are prepared in accordance with company directives.
  • Assist Work Planning with preparing the scope of work.
  • Handle daily maintenance issues as they arise.
  • Responsible for working within assigned budget.
  • Interacts daily with subordinates and frequent interaction with Manager.
  • External interactions are primarily with vendors and, or customers.
  • May perform work of the same type as those being supervised, as well as, providing technical guidance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors' degree in a related field or equivalent training and experience, plus a minimum of 8 years of related and progressively responsible experience. 
  • Computer skills including but not limited to: experience using Microsoft Office Suite (which includes Excel, Outlook, Teams, Microsoft Project and more) along with Maximo and Oracle.  
  • Experience reading plans and specifications. 
  • Working knowledge of National Electric Code preferred. 
  • Ability to multitask. 
  • The primary work location will be at the Nevada National Security Site (located 65 miles northwest of Las Vegas, Nevada).
  • Work schedule for this position will be 4/10’s, Monday – Thursday (subject to change). Also, possible overtime, routine and intermittent.
  • Pre-placement physical examination, which includes a drug screen, is required. MSTS maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.

MSTS is required be DOE directive to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications. Applicants offered employment with MSTS are also subject to a federal background investigation to meet the requirements for access to classified information or matter if the duties of the position require a DOE security clearance. Substance abuse or illegal drug use, falsification of information, criminal activity, serious misconduct or other indicators of untrustworthiness can cause a clearance to be denied or terminated by DOE, resulting in the inability to perform the duties assigned and subsequent termination of employment. In addition, Applicants for employment must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship, at least 18 years of age. Reference DOE Order 472.2, “Personnel Security”. If you hold more than one citizenship (i.e., of the U.S. and another country), your ability to obtain a security clearance may be impacted.

 

Department of Energy Q Clearance 

Reviews and tests for the absence of any illegal drug as defined in 10 CFR Part 707.4, “Workplace Substance Abuse Programs at DOE Sites,” will be conducted.  Applicant selected will be subject to a Federal background investigation, required to participate in subsequent reinvestigations, and must meet the eligibility requirements for access to classified matter. Successful completion of a counterintelligence evaluation, which may include a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination, may also be required. Reference 10 CFR Part 709, “Counterintelligence Evaluation Program.”

Annual salary range for this position is: $98,904.00 - $158,246.40.


Starting salary is determined based on the position market value, the individual candidate education and experience and internal equity.
