Responsibilities

MSTS is seeking a dynamic, self-driven, and highly motivated Work Planner II to join our Physical Security Systems Team.  In this role, you will serve as the work planner for physical security systems electronic security systems department that conducts preventive and corrective maintenance, and new installations of security systems. 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review, and issue equipment and/or system modification, maintenance, and construction work packages in accordance with applicable procedures and regulations.
  • Assist in the preparations of detailed specifications for materials and labor estimates.
  • Assist in the performance of Job Walk downs and Job Hazard Analyses.
  • Assist in screening and binning work packages.
  • Develop of systematic instructions for work packages.
  • May track and expedite established priority of work packages.
  • Prepare and/or reviews specific instructions for the isolation, containment or de-energizing of various mechanical, physical, electrical, chemical and/or radiological systems according to established procedures and regulations. 
  • Perform various functional and administrative activities in conjunction with the primary work control/work package development including, but not limited to, permit development, testing requirements, documentation generation, records management, database information management, retrieval and review, and/or training.
  • Learn all DOE and industry regulatory guidance and governance specific to work control and planning.
  • Ensure all work control results, materials, processes, and final products meet quality specifications and are completed according to established requirements.
  • Analyze time and material requirements for work activity.
  • Perform other duties assigned by Management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field and at least 2 years of professional level experience or equivalent training and experience.
  • Experience in planning for work force, performing material procurements, and post maintenance testing desired.
  • Experience with Maximo Business Solution software or similar software preferred.
  • Experience with business software applications such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, is required.
  • Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management System is desired.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, self-motivated, and desire to improve and learn.
  • General knowledge of electronic security systems such as Lenel card readers, Balance Magnetic Switch (BMS), and cameras installation and maintenance timelines is desired.
  • Must be able to work effectively in a team environment and provide guidance to a team of planners, schedulers, and/or other staff personnel to achieve an effective set of work plans and documents under minimal supervision.
  • The primary work location will be at the Nevada National Security Site (located 65 miles northwest of Las Vegas, Nevada).
  • Work schedule will be 4/10s Monday through Thursday, 7am-5:30pm (subject to change).
  • Pre-placement physical examination, which includes a drug screen, is required.  MSTS maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.

MSTS is required by DOE directive to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications. Applicants offered employment with MSTS are also subject to a federal background investigation to meet the requirements for access to classified information or matter if the duties of the position require a DOE security clearance. Substance abuse or illegal drug use, falsification of information, criminal activity, serious misconduct or other indicators of untrustworthiness can cause a clearance to be denied or terminated by DOE, resulting in the inability to perform the duties assigned and subsequent termination of employment. In addition, Applicants for employment must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship, at least 18 years of age. Reference DOE Order 472.2, “Personnel Security”. If you hold more than one citizenship (i.e., of the U.S. and another country), your ability to obtain a security clearance may be impacted.

 

Department of Energy Q Clearance (position will be cleared to this level). Reviews and tests for the absence of any illegal drug as defined in 10 CFR Part 707.4, “Workplace Substance Abuse Programs at DOE Sites,” will be conducted.  Applicant selected will be subject to a Federal background investigation, required to participate in subsequent reinvestigations, and must meet the eligibility requirements for access to classified matter. Successful completion of a counterintelligence evaluation, which may include a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination, may also be required. Reference 10 CFR Part 709, “Counterintelligence Evaluation Program.”

Annual salary range for this position is: $62,358.40-$93,537.60.

 

Starting salary is determined based on the position market value, the individual candidate education and experience and internal equity.
