Responsibilities

The Senior Accountant is an integral part of the Systems and Special Projects team and will work closely with the Principal Business Process Analyst of Systems and Special Projects. Providing system support, resolving issues, and involvement with new system set ups and changes, your job will have a direct impact on the success of the company.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Report to the Finance & Accounting Manager of Systems and Special Projects.
  • Perform weekly and monthly Oracle cost processing and load actual costs to the company data warehouse.
  • Assist the Principal Business Process Analyst with business systems related issues and initiatives, including thorough testing of system updates and patching to ensure business continuity.
  • Ability to work in close coordination with Information Technologies (IT), Procurement, Project Controls, and other business organizations to resolve issues and implement new initiatives.
  • Assist the Principal Business Process Analyst in evaluating and prioritizing system issues and requests from the functional SMEs.
  • Ensure test results are well documented.
  • Perform system set ups as required for new system implementations, cost model updates, rate changes, organizational hierarchy modifications, and system upgrades.
  • Assist in identifying and discussing inefficient or ineffective accounting business processes.
  • Perform other duties assigned by Management.

Qualifications

Due to the nature of our work, US Citizenship is required for all positions.

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration, or other business-related field and at least 5 years’ of professional level experience, which has provided a broad practical knowledge, preferably related to a government contractor environment, or equivalent training and experience.
  • Experience with Oracle e-Business Suite is desirable.
  • Ability to achieve a high degree of accuracy and ensure all company policies and procedures are followed.
  • Exercise discretion and independent judgment to resolve problems and accomplish goals where established procedures may not be specified.
  • Creativity, initiative, and ability to apply knowledge and experience to provide accounting data and analyses and secure information on operations and problems.
  • Willingness to explore the possibility or need for obtaining additional data, and to provide advice on accounting matters.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, computer skills, problem-solving abilities, and organizational skills ae required.
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal skills and ability to deal with all types of people in a tactful, professional, and effective manner while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Must be able to deal with pressures of deadlines, heavy workloads, and constant interruptions. Must be highly organized and able to prioritize and schedule multiple activities to accomplish work goals and objectives.
  • The primary work location will be at the Losee Road facility in North Las Vegas, Nevada.
  • Work schedule will be 4/10s Monday through Thursday (subject to change).
  • Pre-placement physical examination, which includes a drug screen, is required. MSTS maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Ability to obtain a HSPD-12 Personal Identity Verification credential under the Department of Energy Order 206.2, ‘Identity, Credential, and Access Management,’ and Supplemental Directive NNSA SD 206.2, ‘Implementation of Personal Identity Verification for Uncleared Contractors.’

Annual salary range for this position is: $75,046.40 - $112,569.60.


Starting salary is determined based on the position market value, the individual candidate education and experience and internal equity.
