We have multiple openings for Mechanical Designers (Technologist / Senior Technologist) to participate in new and ongoing projects that are aligned with the vision, strategies, and Business Processes of Livermore Operations, for the National Security Enterprise (NSE). You will report to the Livermore Operations Design Supervisor and be located in Livermore, California. The Technologist / Senior Technologist will work directly with Engineers and Designers as an integral member of growing the organizations technical abilities.
Senior Technologist Level:
Due to the nature of our work, US Citizenship is required for all positions.
Associate degree in field related to the position plus at least 4 years’ progressive related experience or High School diploma plus 6 years’ progressive related experience.
Senior Technologist level:
Associate degree in field related to the position plus at least 8 years’ progressive related experience or High School diploma plus 10 years’ progressive related experience.
Department of Energy Q Clearance (position will be cleared to this level). Reviews and tests for the absence of any illegal drug as defined in 10 CFR Part 707.4, “Workplace Substance Abuse Programs at DOE Sites,” will be conducted. Applicant selected will be subject to a Federal background investigation, and subsequent reinvestigations, and must meet the eligibility requirements for access to classified matter. Successful completion of a counterintelligence evaluation, which may include a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination, may also be required. Reference 10 CFR Part 709, “Counterintelligence Evaluation Program.
Eligibility Requirements – To obtain a clearance, an individual must be a U.S. citizen at least 18 years of age. Reference DOE Order 472.2, “Personnel Security.”
