  • Qualifications

    Due to the nature of our work, US Citizenship is required for all positions.

    • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent training and experience with at least 5 years relevant, progressively responsible experience.

    • Experience scheduling maintenance activities or equivalent experience in one or more trades.
    • Relevant administrative experience, education and/or training may be substituted on a year for year basis.
    • Minimum 2 years computer experience with Windows Based PCs.
    • Experience working with Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook is necessary.
    • Experience working with Maximo or other comparable maintenance management system is highly desirable.
    • Experience working with Ghant Charts, Crystal Reports, BIRT, and/or Akwire Scheduling Software is highly desirable.
    • Schedule will be 4/10s.
    • Pre-placement physical examination, which includes a drug screen, is required. MSTS maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing.

    • Must have a valid driver's license.

     

    Department of Energy Q Clearance (position will be cleared to this level). Reviews and tests for the absence of any illegal drug as defined in 10 CFR Part 707.4, “Workplace Substance Abuse Programs at DOE Sites,” will be conducted.  Applicant selected will be subject to a Federal background investigation, and subsequent reinvestigations, and must meet the eligibility requirements for access to classified matter. Successful completion of a counterintelligence evaluation, which may include a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination, may also be required. Reference 10 CFR Part 709, “Counterintelligence Evaluation Program.

     

    Eligibility Requirements – To obtain a clearance, an individual must be a U.S. citizen at least 18 years of age. Reference DOE Order 472.2, “Personnel Security.”

    Responsibilities

    The primary role of Scheduler is to schedule work on approved Activity Level Work Documents (ALWDs) (i.e. work packages) to support Construction projects, maintenance (preventive, corrective, and predictive), and services.  They schedule according to the priorities of the assigned executing organization.

     

    Key Responsibilities

    • Create and execute weekly work schedules for maintenance and construction crews, to include the organization and generation of preventive maintenance work packages.
    • Conduct daily and weekly scheduling meetings with managers.
    • Plan and adjust schedules.
    • Carry over unfinished work to next week’s schedules.
    • Schedule, coordinate, and expedite work as necessary to ensure contractual requirements and project completion times are met.
    • Ensure all required material is on hand prior to scheduling work.
    • Work closely with customers and other scheduling groups to identify priorities and job requirements, coordinate access, establish work schedules, and report work progress.
    • Schedule work to minimize equipment downtime and customer inconvenience.
    • Take part in the Continuous Improvement of Work Control processes and procedures.
    • Utilize the scheduling database to provide up to date status reports regarding workload/backlog trends, work completion times, labor utilization, shop performance, and work order status.
    • Recommend reporting methods which monitor open work to meet contractual requirements.
    • Perform related duties as assigned.
    • Promote quality and customer service.
