    • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration, or other business-related field and at least 5 years’ of professional level experience, which has provided a broad practical knowledge, preferably related to a government contractor environment, or equivalent training and experience.

    • Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment to resolve problems and accomplish goals where established procedures may not be specific.
    • Must possess creativity, initiative, and ability to apply knowledge and experience to supply accounting data and analyses, secure information on operations and problems, to explore the possibility or need for obtaining additional data, and to provide advice on accounting matters.
    • Excellent computer skills, problem-solving abilities, and good organizational skills.
    • Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to deal with all types of people in a tactful, professional, and effective manner while screening and maintaining confidentiality.
    • Must be highly organized and able to prioritize and schedule multiple activities to accomplish work goals and objectives effectively.
    • Ability to achieve high degree of accuracy in accomplishing work.
    • Pre-placement physical examination, which includes a drug screen, is required. MSTS maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing.

    As an integral part of the Financial Planning team, you will assist with supporting director budget development, financial analysis and reporting. Your work will have a direct impact on the financial success of the company.



    Key Responsibilities

    • Support budget development, justification, and execution with various organizations by coordinating, compiling, and tracking financial information
    • Includes indirect and direct budget information, funding status, forecasting and variance explanations, and baseline change control requests
    • Provides regular assistance or independently resolves more difficult and complex accounting problems.
    • Responsible for an assigned set of Work Breakdown Structures that will be issued with the Monthly Financial Review packages used in financial review meetings
    • Perform analysis, report budget performance progress, forecasting and variance reporting input for Indirect Budgets based at the NNSS, NLV, and offsite locations
    • Monitor and maintain accounting transactions such as accruals, vouchers, labor reports, metrics and other transactions as needed. Interface with CBA’s, PCE’s, Executive Mgmt staff, Directors and Business managers
    • Ensure indirect performance analysis, forecasting and variance analysis is accurate and complete for each monthly reporting cycle
    • Provide analysis that identifies and interprets financial findings linked to operational activities; translate operational information for variance reporting and use problem solving techniques to ascertain concerns, issues, and impacts
    • Coordinate indirect budget forecasting and monitoring of Estimate to Complete and track Finance Indirect Budget performance metrics and management objectives
    • Provide support information necessary to assist management in business decisions related to Indirect Budgets, costs and variances
    • Participate in baseline development for indirect budgets for the fiscal year including analysis to set targets
    • Support implementing process improvements and advances for financial reporting tools
    • Develop and maintain customer relations with management teams for the indirect organizations, serving as a liaison point of contact from Finance to them to provide prompt, accurate responses, special requests for information, special analyses, presentations or studies
