  • Qualifications

    Due to the nature of our work, U.S. Citizenship is required for all positions.

    • Bachelor's degree in related field, or equivalent training and experience, plus a minimum of 5 years of related and progressively responsible experience.

    • Ability to communicate (oral and written) with employees, managers, customers, vendors, etc.
    • Ability to build and lead teams and develop direct reports and others.
    • Ability to monitor and measure performance.
    • Ability to problem solve.
    • Must be able to work within, and utilize data obtained from, the electronic planning software being utilized, such as Primavera, or other similar software.
    • Must have a good knowledge of Construction Work Processes in order to properly sequence, prioritize, and tie logic between all planned and scheduled activities.
    • Creates an environment where employees feel safe to raise issues, empowered to address issues, and supported to resolve issues.
    • Work Schedule will be 4/10's,  Monday - Thursday, 7:00am - 5:30pm
    • Pre-placement physical examination, which includes a drug screen, is required. MSTS maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing.
    • Must have a valid driver's license.

    Responsibilities

    The Supervisor will support the Construction Department in the area of Work Planning and Control (WP&C) and will assist with establishing an integrated scheduling program.

    They will be a subject matter expert for WP&C requirements in support of Real Property and Programmatic Equipment, Construction and Subcontracts within the Nuclear and Non-Nuclear Facilities at the NNSS.

     

    Key Responsibilities

    • Must be able to identify trained and qualified WP&C staff to provide support for construction work for the NNSS, North Las Vegas, and other facilities.
    • Point of contact for WP&C questions, concerns, improvements and issue resolution.
    • Must be able to identify and/or assist in the development of the Scope of Work to be planned and scheduled.
    • Ensure compliance with Nuclear Facility Maintenance WP&C and Conduct of Operations requirements.
    • Establish and coordinate activity level work assignments and/or work projects and direct work package planning.
    • Assign the prioritization of work orders, and track progress of assigned packages. 
    • Resolve issues arising from questions/problems encountered during the planning and review process.
    • Organize and supervise day-to-day operations of work planners assigned, ensuring that schedules are kept.
    • Oversee work performed by planners and schedulers, providing continuous improvement leadership. 
    • Prepare reports and graphs to illustrate work performed and work forecast.
    • Participate in Plan of the Day and Plan of the Week process, and attend weekly Construction Department staff meetings.
    • Must be able to electronically or otherwise incorporate all planning data, obtained from the planning software and from verbal communications with project participants, into the overall project plan and schedule.
    • Participate in construction-related cost estimates.
    • Directly supervise individual contributors, including approving time, conducting performance evaluations, and participating in the recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training of assigned staff.
    • Implement and follow company policies, procedures and directives.
    • Responsible for working within assigned budget.
    • Interact daily with subordinates and frequent interaction with manager.
