  • Qualifications

    Due to the nature of our work, US Citizenship is required for all positions.

    • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent training and experience and at least 8 years of professional level experience, which included coordinating and implementing administrative policies, procedures, and programs.

    • Pre-placement physical examination, which includes a drug screen, is required. MSTS maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing.
    • Expert knowledge of advanced principles, concepts and theory related to professional business disciplines or fields related to the position and able to employ a systems approach to address issues and define and resolve the most difficult and challenging problems.
    • Able to work independently on project/program objectives and strategies, and formulate strategies for improving operations/processes.
    • Able to develop and maintain relationships with all levels of employees throughout the company, customers/sponsors, suppliers, outside agencies, and various levels of personnel within parent organizations, DOE/HQ, DOE/NNSA, and other contractors including LANL, LLNL, and Sandia as needed to facilitate meeting project/program and organizational unit objectives while screening and maintaining confidentiality.
    • Able to prioritize and schedule multiple activities in the most efficient manner and meet required deadlines.
    • Able to use software applications needed in the position, including accounting software, analytical software, financial analysis software, word processing software, spreadsheet software, presentation software, and database software.
    • Skilled in working and communicating effectively with managers of other project functional groups, primarily Operations, Engineering, Construction, and Project Management.
    • Proficient in oral and written communication. Skill and ability to understand complex data, terminology and procedures.
    • Willingness to report to work in forward areas of the Nevada National Security Site on a daily basis.
    • Ability to create and maintain highest levels of confidentiality when dealing with proprietary information and sensitive situations.
    • Must have current valid Driver’s License.
    • Nuclear Facility Worker - This position is subject to the requirements of DOE Order 426.2.  Education and experience requirements will be screened accordingly.

    Department of Energy Q Clearance (position will be cleared to this level). Reviews and tests for the absence of any illegal drug as defined in 10 CFR Part 707.4, “Workplace Substance Abuse Programs at DOE Sites,” will be conducted.  Applicant selected will be subject to a Federal background investigation, and subsequent reinvestigations, and must meet the eligibility requirements for access to classified matter. Successful completion of a counterintelligence evaluation, which may include a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination, may also be required. Reference 10 CFR Part 709, “Counterintelligence Evaluation Program. Eligibility Requirements – To obtain a clearance, an individual must be a U.S. citizen at least 18 years of age. Reference DOE Order 472.2, “Personnel Security.”

    Principal Administrative Specialist for the Work Management Center Manager in the Nuclear Asset Operations Directorate.


    Key Responsibilities

    • Provide administrative support to the Work Management Center at the Nevada National Security Site (NNSS), acts as assistant to the Nuclear Asset Operations Integrated Scheduling Manager in coordinating and directing office management activities to ensure implementation of Company policies, directives, and procedures.
    • Performs full range of business activities required to support large and complex projects and programs.
    • Maintain regular contact with diverse personnel including DOE/NNSA, user agencies, and other operating departments to provide assistance and coordinate office management activities or execute administrative procedures.
    • Develop and maintain relationships with customer/sponsors, suppliers, outside agencies and with other work groups within the organization as needed to facilitate meeting project/program and work group objectives.
    • Exercise considerable discretion and judgment in performing work and conducting evaluations of operation/process effectiveness.
    • Assists in coordinating safety and security requirements.
    • Compile or coordinate organization-wide responses for a variety of requests and reports. Participate in special studies and tasks as required.
    • Accept individual responsibility and accountability for environment, safety, health, and quality processes within personal control, personal safety, and the safety of co-workers. Comply with established regulations and procedures for environment, safety, health, and quality and perform duties in a way that will not cause personal danger, endanger other individuals, or violate environment, safety, health, and quality regulations.
    • Promptly correct or report any hazard or potential hazard to supervision. Participate in and embrace MSTS environment, safety, health, and quality initiatives.
