  • Qualifications

    Due to the nature of our work, US Citizenship is required for all positions.

    • Bachelor’s degree in related field and at least 8 years’ of professional level experience, or equivalent training and experience.
    • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Defined Benefit Plans, Defined Contribution Plans and various legal requirements.
    • Defined Benefit Plan experience preferred.
    • Excellent mathematical, analytical and organizational skills.
    • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Working knowledge of Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA), Internal Reveune Service (IRS),Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation(PBGC) and Department of Labor (DOL) regulations.
    • Ability to demonstrate independence in work.
    • Must be able to communicate effectively to all level of employees.
    • Pre-placement physical examination, which includes a drug screen, is required. MSTS maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing.
    • Must have a valid driver’s license.

    Responsibilities

    MSTS is looking for a Pension Benefits Administrator to lead the evaluation, administration and compliance of the company retirement plans - defined benefit and defined contribution plans.  The successful candidate will be empowered to work independently and exercise sound professional judgement, have the ability to work with confidential information and protect sensitive data, manage multiple projects and assignments, and effectively communicate with diverse individuals and groups in a clear, concise manner.

     

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Acts as the subject matter expert and advises on retirement plans and related policies/procedures.
    • Monitors current trends, compliance and legislative requirements within the retirement plans industry; makes recommendations to align and/or improve company plans, programs and operations.
    • Acts as liaison between employees and retirees and the various third party providers.
    • Communicates with current and former employees, vested participants and beneficiaries concerning pension entitlements, retirement process, payment options, calculations and necessary documentation.
    • Monitors the investment accounts in the pension trust and initiates the redemption or purchase of investments at the direction of investment consultant.
    • Validates sufficient funds are available in the cash accounts to cover pension expenses each month.
    • Works closely with the Legal Department and Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) attorney,
    • Leads retirement plan audits; works closely with external auditors.
    • Analyzes, researches and calculates routine individual employee pension benefits for individual financial planning, terminations, retirements, beneficiaries, divorce and death
    • Supports the Benefits Committee.
