    MSTS is a limited liability company consisting of Honeywell International Inc. (Honeywell), Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. (Jacobs), and HII Nuclear Inc.

    Responsibilities

    Undergraduate Information Technology Interns will work under the direct supervision of a mentor and will be provided with hands-on participation in ongoing projects at one of the most unique experimental sites in the United States, or one of our outlying locations.

     

    We are looking for qualified and motivated students in:

    • Computer Science
    • Information Systems & Management Information Systems (MIS)
    • Information Technology
    • Cybersecurity
    • Information Science
    • Informatics

    Many student interns return each summer and others work for us part-time year-round while they attend local schools.

     

    Internships are available in North Las Vegas; at the Nevada National Security Site (65 miles northwest of Las Vegas, Nevada); in Los Alamos and Albuquerque, New Mexico; Livermore and Santa Barbara, California; and at the Remote Sensing Laboratories at Nellis Air Force Base or Andrews Air Force Base.

     

    Please note these important dates for our 2020 MSTS Summer Internship Program:

    • August 2019 - Application process opens
    • August 2019 - February 2020 - Phone and/or in-person Interviews
    • September 2019 - March 2020 - Offers to be made
    • May/June 2020 - Summer internship begins
    • August 2020 - Summer internship concludes

    Qualifications

    Due to the nature of our work, US Citizenship is required for all positions.

    • Completion of the first year of a related degree program at an accredited institution. The declared degree must pertain to the organizational unit to which the individual will be assigned.  Applicant must be actively enrolled in school.
    • You must have and maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 on 4.0 scale.
    • You must currently be enrolled in school (college)
    • You must have:
      • Planning/organizing skills and initiative
      • Good written and verbal communication skills
      • Basic knowledge of engineering equipment, software, systems, calculations, and applications of engineering methods
      • Ability to follow directions, both written and verbal, and able to work independently as well as part of a team
    • Strong computer skills are desired, including MS Office
    • A pre-placement physical examination, which includes a drug screen, is required. MSTS maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing.
    • Must have a valid driver's license.

    • Ability to obtain a HSPD-12 Personal Identity Verification credential under the Department of Energy Order 206.2, 'Identity, Credential, and Access Management,' and Supplemental Directive NNSA SD 206.2, 'Implementation of Personal Identity Verification for Uncleared Contractors.'
