    Due to the nature of our work, US Citizenship is required for all positions.

     

    We are looking for Intelligence Analyst I, Intelligence Analyst II, Senior Intelligence Analyst and Principal Intelligence Analyst candidates. As part of this diverse, multi-disciplinary team, you will use your skills in any of the following areas to improve national security.  Positions are available in both Santa Barbara, CA and Huntsville, AL.

     

    Intelligence Analyst I

    • Bachelor’s degree in field related to the position or equivalent training and experience.
    • Basic understanding of industry best practices (i.e. SANS 20 Critical Security Controls, et al) and relevant National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) standards, publications and controls is required.
    • Understanding of basic principles, theories, standards, practices, protocols, and procedures used in Cyber Security is required.
    • Understanding of forensic hardware, software and systems as well as network based and client/server applications, intrusion detection systems, network architecture and security infrastructure placement is required.
    • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, sufficient to communicate with co-workers, customers, testify, write clear and concise reports, gather information, and collect information is required.

     

    Intelligence Analyst II

    • Bachelor’s degree in field related to the position or equivalent training and experience, and at least 2 years' of relevant experience.
    • Knowledge of industry best practices (i.e. SANS 20 Critical Security Controls, et al) and relevant National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) standards, publications and controls is required.
    • Knowledge of principles, theories, standards, practices, protocols, procedures and security appliances used in cyber security is required.
    • Knowledge of forensic hardware, software and systems as well as network based and client/server applications, intrusion detection systems, network architecture and security infrastructure placement is required.
    • Ability to use network scanning and vulnerability tools and interpret the results. 
    • Ability to review and validate remediation efforts of vulnerability scan results. 
    • Ability to clearly and effectively articulate and present facts, ideas, issues and analyses to a wide range of audiences is required.
    • Experience with preparation of papers, briefings and documentation is required.
    • Experience with integration and maintenance of Information Technologies (IT) systems and architecture is preferred.

    Senior Intelligence Analyst

    • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent training and experience and at least 5 years' relevant experience.
    • Ability to apply knowledge of cyber security principles, policies, and procedures to ensure security of information systems services and data is required.
    • Ability to apply knowledge of cyber security principles, methods, and tools to access cyber vulnerabilities/risks and develop or recommend appropriate mitigation countermeasures is required.
    • Knowledge of cyber security vulnerabilities, mitigation strategies, network architecture, and how to apply security controls
    • Familiarity with intrusion detection systems and with network architecture and security infrastructure placement. 
    • Ability to clearly and effectively articulate and present facts, ideas, issues and analyses to a wide range of audiences is required.
    • Ability to make clear and convincing oral presentations is required.
    • Experience preparing succinct and well-organized papers, briefings and documentation is required.
    • Experience communicating critical information effectively, both verbally and in writing to co-workers and customers at all expertise and organizational levels is required.
    • Experience with integration and maintenance of Information Technologies (IT) systems and architecture is preferred.
    • Pre-placement physical examination, which includes a drug screen, is required. MSTS maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing.
    • Must have a valid driver’s license

    Principal Intelligence Analyst

    • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent training and experience, and at least 9 years' relevant experience.
    • Thorough knowledge of cyber security vulnerabilities, mitigation strategies, network architecture, and how to apply security controls
    • Thorough knowledge of intrusion detection systems and with network architecture and security infrastructure placement. 
    • Demonstrated a thorough ability to apply knowledge of cyber security principles, policies, and procedures to ensure security of information systems services and data is required.
    • Demonstrated a thorough ability to apply knowledge of cyber security principles, methods, and tools to access cyber vulnerabilities/risks and develop or recommend appropriate mitigation countermeasures is required.
    • Ability to clearly and effectively articulate and present facts, ideas, issues and analyses to a wide range of audiences.
    • Demonstrated ability to make clear and convincing oral presentations is required.
    • Experience preparing succinct and well-organized papers, briefings and documentation to promote decisions is required.

    Department of Energy Q Clearance (all positions will be cleared to this level). Reviews and tests for the absence of any illegal drug as defined in 10 CFR Part 707.4, “Workplace Substance Abuse Programs at DOE Sites,” will be conducted. Applicant selected will be subject to a Federal background investigation, and subsequent reinvestigations, and must meet the eligibility requirements for access to classified matter. Successful completion of a counterintelligence evaluation, which may include a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination, may also be required. Reference 10 CFR Part 709, “Counterintelligence Evaluation Program.”

     

    Eligibility Requirements – To obtain a clearance, an individual must be a U.S. citizen at least 18 years of age. Reference DOE Order 472.2, “Personnel Security.”

    Intelligence Analyst I

    • Provide assistance with cybersecurity assessments of cybersecurity applications and defenses, ranging from simple networks to multi-layered, complex corporate infrastructures.
    • Assist in researching, compiling, and analyzing technical data.
    • Provide assistance with the evaluation of technical capabilities.
    • Provide assistance with detecting, disrupting and eradicating threats from enterprise networks by assisting with fusing data analysis, cyber intelligence and security technologies.
    • Provide assistance with forensic/incident response activities and may monitor intrusion detection/prevention systems, security event/incident management tools, endpoint security tools, email gateways, firewalls and network infrastructure.
    • Some travel will be required.

    Intelligence Analyst II

    • Provide support and assistance with cybersecurity assessments of cybersecurity applications and defenses, ranging from simple networks to multi-layered, complex corporate infrastructures.
    • Assist in researching, compiling, and analyzing technical data by applying knowledge of technical principles, theories, standards, practices and procedures.
    • Provide support and assistance with the evaluation of technical capabilities and may provide recommendations for improvements and best practices.
    • Provide support and assistance with detecting, disrupting and eradicating threats from enterprise networks by assisting with fusing data analysis, cyber intelligence and cutting-edge security technologies.
    • Provide support and assistance with forensic/incident response activities and may monitor intrusion detection/prevention systems, security event/incident management tools, endpoint security tools, email gateways, firewalls and network infrastructure.
    • Identifies, reports, and assists in the remediation of Cyber Security threats and vulnerabilities.
    • Validates the functionality of security tools within the environment.
    • May participate in customer and program meetings as a contributor and as a source of information.
    • Some travel will be required.

     

    Senior Intelligence Analyst

    • Provide timely and concise assessments of cybersecurity applications and defenses, ranging from simple networks to multi-layered, complex corporate infrastructures.
    • Provide assistance with the evaluation of technical capabilities and may provide recommendations for improvements and best practices.
    • Demonstrate and apply knowledge of industry best practices (i.e. SANS 20 Critical Security Controls, et al) and relevant National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) standards, publications and controls.
    • Detect, investigate, and effectively document advanced cybersecurity threat tactics and techniques.
    • Assist with creating new detection methodologies using a variety of open source and commercial tools and technologies to support incident responses and monitoring functions for complex systems and industrial partners.
    • Detect, disrupt and eradicate threats from enterprise networks by fusing data analysis, cyber intelligence and cutting-edge security technologies.
    • Reviews Cyber Security threat information and assists with mitigating vulnerabilities identified.
    • Uses established standards, practices and procedures as well as an increasing technical knowledge to solve problems and complete projects.
    • Extensive travel may be required.

     

    Principal Intelligence Analyst

    • Provide expert, timely and concise assessments of cybersecurity applications and defenses, ranging from simple networks to multi-layered, complex corporate infrastructures.
    • Provide evaluation of technical capabilities and provide recommendations for improvements and best practices.
    • Demonstrate and apply expert knowledge of industry best practices (i.e. SANS 20 Critical Security Controls, et al) and relevant National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) standards, publications and controls.
    • Detect, investigate, and effectively document advanced cybersecurity threat tactics and techniques.
    • Create new detection methodologies using a variety of open source and commercial tools and technologies to support incident responses and monitoring functions for complex systems and industrial partners.
    • Detect, disrupt and eradicate threats from enterprise networks by fusing data analysis, cyber intelligence and cutting-edge security technologies.
    • Develops standards, practices and procedures as well as an increasing technical knowledge to solve problems and complete projects.
    • Lead a diverse team of cybersecurity experts working together to proactively detect, deter, document and analyze potential and actual cyber-adversary behaviors and tools.
    • Positively influence, motivate, and challenge others; adapt leadership styles to a variety of situations.
