  • Qualifications

    Due to the nature of our work, US Citizenship is required for all positions.

     

    • Bachelor's degree in field related to the position or equivalent training and experience and a minimum of two years' related and progressively responsible experience to traffic logistics / transportation management
    • Two years of professional experience related to interstate motor carrier operations
    • Demonstrated skilled in the use of commercial software applications, specifically Microsoft Access database entry and maintenance
    • Must possess strong communications skills and the ability to prioritize a dynamic work load
    • Pre-placement physical examination, which includes a drug screen, is required. MSTS maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing.
    • Must have a valid driver’s license.

    Department of Energy Q Clearance (position will be cleared to this level). Reviews and tests for the absence of any illegal drug as defined in 10 CFR Part 707.4, “Workplace Substance Abuse Programs at DOE Sites,” will be conducted.  Applicant selected will be subject to a Federal background investigation, and subsequent reinvestigations, and must meet the eligibility requirements for access to classified matter. Successful completion of a counterintelligence evaluation, which may include a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination, may also be required. Reference 10 CFR Part 709, “Counterintelligence Evaluation Program.”

     

    Eligibility Requirements – To obtain a clearance, an individual must be a U.S. citizen at least 18 years of age. Reference DOE Order 472.2, “Personnel Security.”

    Responsibilities

    This position will be the primary Transportation Management point of contact and interface with functional organizations that operate commercial motor vehicles.

     

    Key Responsibilities:

    • This position provides programmatic administration of motor carrier operations and executes the following:
    • Initiates and maintains permits, certificates, registrations and other credentials.
    • Initiates and maintains the driver qualification files (DQF) of employees tasked to operate a commercial motor vehicle (CMV), tracks each qualification component.
    • Coordinates the DOT controlled substances use and alcohol misuse testing program.
    • Initiates and maintains records related to the generation of records of hours of services for CMV Operators utilizing electronic time record hardware/software.
    • Responsible for data entries in various Microsoft Access databases.
    • Serves as Records Management Coordinator for Transportation Management.
    • Participates as a Management Assessment team member.
