Department of Energy Q Clearance (position will be cleared to this level). Reviews and tests for the absence of any illegal drug as defined in 10 CFR Part 707.4, “Workplace Substance Abuse Programs at DOE Sites,” will be conducted.  Applicant selected will be subject to a Federal background investigation, and subsequent reinvestigations, and must meet the eligibility requirements for access to classified matter. MSTS Administration and Facilities group in Los Alamos, NM is looking for a senior level employee with the initiative and experience to prioritize and handle facility maintenance worker, custodial, and entry controller associated tasks.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform, direct, and coordinate complex operational support duties and responsibilities involving maintenance and facility services.
• Priority given to maintaining a safe facility especially with regard to weather and snow removal prior to the start of the workday and on weekends as required.
• Interacting with subcontractors and de-conflicting work activities to minimize impact on daily operations.
• Includes off-normal work hours ranging from HVAC maintenance to cleaning windows, carpets, and floors.
• Assist other Facilities personnel in the installation and modification of building electrical, plumbing, mechanical, special systems, and other infrastructure components as required to support mission requirements
• Serve as a Qualified Electrical Worker authorized to perform lockout/tagout operations for both facility and project equipment.
• Serve as entry controller, conduct random checks on personnel entering and leaving the building.
• Answer phones and greet visitors in a professional and courteous manner.
• Respond to security and facility alarms and off-normal occurrences 24/7.
• Activate and de-activate building security systems at the start or end of the day or in response to off-normal incidents.
• Back-up shipping and receiving to include using applications to send and receive items in the MSTS automated systems.
• Install, remove, and repair furniture, laboratory, and facility equipment, including moving people and projects throughout the building.
• Maintain the facility in a clean and sanitary manner, especially public areas and restrooms.
• Strip, wax, and buff all tiled floors throughout the facility.  May operate a forklift.
  
• Maintain inventories of custodial supplies and generate order points for all items
• Collect documents for shredding, take to Shred-it truck, and observe shredding process.
• Support the emergency action team as needed during actual emergencies and drills.
• Collect items for recycling around the building and place in collection bins outside.
