  • Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent training and experience plus 2 years’ relevant experience.
    • Ability to prioritize and schedule multiple activities in the most efficient manner and meet required deadlines. 
    • Ability to communicate with all types of customers in a tactful, professional, and effective manner.
    • Mechanical, electrical, maintenance, and/or construction experience desirable.
    • Knowledge of grammar, spelling, and punctuation. 
    • Ability to provide team direction and leadership
    • Advanced knowledge of MS Word.
    • Pre-placement physical examination, which includes a drug screen, is required. MSTS maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing.
    • Department of Energy Q Clearance (position will be cleared to this level). Reviews and tests for the absence of any illegal drug as defined in 10 CFR Part 707.4, “Workplace Substance Abuse Programs at DOE Sites,” will be conducted.  Applicant selected will be subject to a Federal background investigation, and subsequent reinvestigations, and must meet the eligibility requirements for access to classified matter. Successful completion of a counterintelligence evaluation, which may include a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination, may also be required. Reference 10 CFR Part 709, “Counterintelligence Evaluation Program. Eligibility Requirements – To obtain a clearance, an individual must be a U.S. citizen at least 18 years of age. Reference DOE Order 472.2, “Personnel Security.”

    Serve as a Technical Writer II to assist and coordinate document development and control for programs and operations. As an integral part of our team collaborate with external and internal partners to attain desired success states and support operations.


    Key Responsibilities


    Assist Senior and Principal Technical Writers with document development and document control duties for programs and operations at high hazard and nuclear facilities for mission work at the Nevada National Security Site

    • Interview Subject Matter Experts and perform research for document development
    • Prepare new documents and revisions
    • Prepare graphic illustrations, charts, diagrams, and tables for use in documents
    • Facilitate document reviews and resolutions
    • Participate in document walk-down and tabletop reviews
    • Facilitate team input for hazard analyses
    • Facilitate document approval and publication
    • Qualify as Lead Planner
