  • Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in education, training, instructional design, or adult education or related field or equivalent training and experience plus at least 2 years of professional-level experience.
    • Job-related experience may be substituted for education.
    • Demonstrated effective oral, analytical, writing, and presentation skills.
    • Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills to deal with a diversity of demands.
    • Ability to manage a variety of job specific projects, while maintaining appropriate levels of service in existing programs and meet the demands of a constantly changing environment.
    • Knowledge and skill working with database, spreadsheet, and presentation programs.
    • Knowledge of appropriate safety and health standards and procedures; and experience identifying reporting, and/or correcting hazards.

    Desired Qualifications:

    • Knowledge and experience with nuclear facility training and qualification records.
    • Knowledge of federal records requirement and regulations, DOE Order 426.2, and other guidance for training and qualification records, especially those impacting nuclear facilities and activities.
    • Knowledge of learning management systems
    • Pre-placement physical examination, which includes a drug screen, is required. MSTS maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing.
    • Department of Energy Q Clearance (position will be cleared to this level). Reviews and tests for the absence of any illegal drug as defined in 10 CFR Part 707.4, “Workplace Substance Abuse Programs at DOE Sites,” will be conducted.  Applicant selected will be subject to a Federal background investigation, and subsequent reinvestigations, and must meet the eligibility requirements for access to classified matter. Successful completion of a counterintelligence evaluation, which may include a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination, may also be required. Reference 10 CFR Part 709, “Counterintelligence Evaluation Program. Eligibility Requirements – To obtain a clearance, an individual must be a U.S. citizen at least 18 years of age. Reference DOE Order 472.2, “Personnel Security.”

    Serve as a Training Specialist who will represent Nuclear Training. As an integral part of our Nuclear Training team, you will collaborate with Nuclear Training Supervisor or Manager and project teams to attain desired success and achieve our mission.

    • Represent Nuclear Training on project teams/company initiatives as directed. 
    • Perform related work as assigned by the Training Supervisor or Nuclear Training Manager.
    • Accept individual responsibility and accountability for environment, safety, health, and quality processes within personal control, personal safety, and the safety of co-workers.
    • Comply with established regulations and procedures for environment, safety, health, and quality and perform duties in a way that will not cause personal danger, endanger other individuals, or violate environment, safety, health, and quality regulations.
    • Promptly correct or report any hazard or potential hazard to supervision.
    • Understand the principles associated with the MSTS safety concept.
    • Participate in and embrace MSTS environment, safety, health, and quality initiatives.
