  • Qualifications

    Bachelor’s degree in a technical related field and 14 years' of professional level experience, or equivalent training and experience. 

    • 8 years of experience related to nuclear facility operations with focus on implementation of Documented Safety Basis/Technical Safety Requirements.
    • Experience managing/coordinating projects or activities of broad scope that required interdisciplinary and inter-agency coordination.
    • Ability to adapt to a changing environment and handle multiple priorities.
    • Excellent writing and analytical skills.
    • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, or similar, a plus.
    • Department of Energy Q Clearance (position will be cleared to this level). Reviews and tests for the absence of any illegal drug as defined in 10 CFR Part 707.4, “Workplace Substance Abuse Programs at DOE Sites,” will be conducted.  Applicant selected will be subject to a Federal background investigation, and subsequent re-investigations, and must meet the eligibility requirements for access to classified matter. Successful completion of a counterintelligence evaluation, which may include a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination, may also be required. Reference 10 CFR Part 709, “Counterintelligence Evaluation Program.”

      Eligibility Requirements – To obtain a clearance, an individual must be a U.S. citizen at least 18 years of age. Reference DOE Order 472.2, “Personnel Security.”

    • Pre-placement physical examination, which includes a drug screen, is required. MSTS maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing.

    You will serve as a Technical Lead to coordinate the integration of new missions and other projects into nuclear facilities / activities for the Mission Development and Implementation (MD&I) Division. As Technical Lead for major projects and startups, you will be an integral part of the MD&I team of experts collaborating with partners external and internal to MSTS and Nuclear Asset Operations (NAO) to attain desired success states and sustain operations.

    • Actively initiate and lead collaboration for major projects and startups with all stakeholders (internal and external) to attain desired success state and sustain operations.
    • Provide expert level knowledge of facility integration requirements to new missions and projects.
    • At NAO managed facilities, identify and tailor applicable functional, operational, and compliance-based requirements for missions, projects and activities.
    • Create and maintain a communication/information conduit between mission project and facility.
    • Support safety basis implementation and readiness activities in nuclear facilities.
