  • Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent training and experience with at least 5 years relevant, progressively responsible experience.
      • Bachelor's degree preferred in Facility Management, Engineering, Physical Science, Project Management, Business, or field related to the position.
    • Background and experience are as follows: must have excellent written and oral communication skills to interact with facility tenants, federal oversight personnel, senior management, supporting organizations, external customers, vendors, and visitors.
    • Knowledge of building systems and supporting processes to ensure secure, safe, and efficient operations. 
    • Practical facility management experience. 
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
    • Must be able to deal effectively with conflicting deadlines. 
    • Demonstrated leadership qualities with emphasis on continuous improvement and team building.
    • Skilled in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Powerpoint is desired).
    • Physical Requirements include; ability to withstand extreme temperatures, ability to stand, sit and walk for prolonged periods of time.  Must have the ability to climb, crouch and reach. Must be able to see colors and have full auditory capabilities.
    •  Must hold a valid drivers’ license.


    Department of Energy Q Clearance (position will be cleared to this level). Reviews and tests for the absence of any illegal drug as defined in 10 CFR Part 707.4, “Workplace Substance Abuse Programs at DOE Sites,” will be conducted.  Applicant selected will be subject to a Federal background investigation, and subsequent reinvestigations, and must meet the eligibility requirements for access to classified matter. Successful completion of a counterintelligence evaluation, which may include a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination, may also be required. Reference 10 CFR Part 709, “Counterintelligence Evaluation Program.”

    Eligibility Requirements – To obtain a clearance, an individual must be a U.S. citizen at least 18 years of age. Reference DOE Order 472.2, “Personnel Security.” 


    Pre-placement physical examination, which includes a drug screen, is required. MSTS maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing.

    • Position represents the Facility Managers Division and reports directly to the Facility Managers Division Manager.    
      • Provide the Facility Manager function (and Alternate Facility Manager) for selected facilities. 
    • The successful candidate will be required to rotate between the NLV and NNSS facilities. 
      • Assigned facilities may include one or more of the following types of facilities: administrative, SCIF, chemical, industrial, radiological, balance of plant real estate, managed land areas, and training venues.
    • The Facility Manager will manage the real property assets in support of the tenant's day-to-day facility operations. Responsibilities include: compliance with the MSTS ES&H and emergency management requirements, oversight of facility maintenance and construction activities, deconfliction of all work activities conducted within the boundaries of the facility and infrastructure, and implementation of the Fire Protection Program.
    • Assist in creating and revising work authorization and execution planning documents, qualifying as the Alternate Facility Manager to multiple facilities, and conducting management self-assessments. Responsible for creating, revising, and managing Asset Management Plan reports.
    • Perform other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
