  • Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in an engineering program accredited by the Accredidation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET), and 5 years' related experience.
    • Working knowledge of precedents in the specialty area, the principles and practices of related technical areas.
    • Demonstrated ability to plan and coordinate independent work requiring judgment, initiative, and experience in the application and adaptation of engineering techniques.
    • Understanding of engineering work planning, scheduling, and cost estimating.
    • Skill to coordinate technical issues with other organizations or projects.
    • Must be able to deal with pressure of deadlines, frequent interruptions, and multiple tasks.
    • Demonstrate leadership qualities with emphasis on continuous improvement and team building, and interpersonal communication skills.
    • Knowledge of how codes and standards of other disciplines affect your discipline.

     

    Department of Energy Q Clearance (position will be cleared to this level). Reviews and tests for the absence of any illegal drug as defined in 10 CFR Part 707.4, “Workplace Substance Abuse Programs at DOE Sites,” will be conducted.  Applicant selected will be subject to a Federal background investigation, and subsequent reinvestigations, and must meet the eligibility requirements for access to classified matter. Successful completion of a counterintelligence evaluation, which may include a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination, may also be required. Reference 10 CFR Part 709, “Counterintelligence Evaluation Program.”

    Eligibility Requirements – To obtain a clearance, an individual must be a U.S. citizen at least 18 years of age. Reference DOE Order 472.2, “Personnel Security.” 

     

    Pre-placement physical examination, which includes a drug screen, is required. MSTS maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing.

    Responsibilities

    You will serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) and provide ownership for maintenance of all assigned systems at the DAF. You will coordinate work with other project team members and serve as lead for projects on your assigned systems. You will also develop processes, procedures, and work instructions for assigned systems. Finally, you will execute work in a disciplined manner to demonstrate compliance with laws, codes, orders, and MSTS policies and procedures.

    • Devises imaginative, thorough, and practical solutions requiring evaluation of standards and processes.
    • Passionately takes ownership of Preventive Maintenance /Predictive Maintenance program at the DAF for assigned systems.
    • Contributes to development of engineering solutions employing new principles, concepts, and/or techniques.
    • Maintains a keen attention to detail in execution of procedural forms including PM changes, Replacement Item Evaluations, and Facility Change Requests
    • Builds solid team relationships with technical and other company organizations.
