  • Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in a business related field and 2 years’ of professional level experience, or equivalent training and experience.
    • Able to utilize independent judgment, creativity, initiative, and ability to apply knowledge and experience to resolve problems and compose technical correspondence and reports.
    • Able to prioritize and schedule multiple activities in the most efficient manner and meet required deadlines.
    • Able to communicate with all types of people in a tactful, professional, and effective manner while screening and maintaining confidentially.
    • Able to remember extensive policies, procedures, terminology, schedules, personnel, and other details.
    • Able to follow oral and written instructions, and follow through on all assignments.
    • Able to deal with pressure of handling multiple tasks, complaints, frequent interruptions, and time constraints.
    • Knowledge of basic grammar, spelling and punctuation.
    • Applicant selected will subject to federal background investigation.
    • Pre-placement physical examination, which includes a drug screen, is required. MSTS maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing.

    Department of Energy Q Clearance (position will be cleared to this level). Reviews and tests for the absence of any illegal drug as defined in 10 CFR Part 707.4, “Workplace Substance Abuse Programs at DOE Sites,” will be conducted.  Applicant selected will be subject to a Federal background investigation, and subsequent reinvestigations, and must meet the eligibility requirements for access to classified matter. Successful completion of a counterintelligence evaluation, which may include a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination, may also be required. Reference 10 CFR Part 709, “Counterintelligence Evaluation Program.”

    Eligibility Requirements – To obtain a clearance, an individual must be a U.S. citizen at least 18 years of age. Reference DOE Order 472.2, “Personnel Security.”

    Responsibilities

    • Develops, writes, and edits procedures, manuals, policies, plans, technical reports, project correspondence, committee charts, briefing packages, brochures, new articles, information releases to the public, and other technical and administrative publications according to established format and quality standards.
    • Leads project team consisting of exempt and nonexempt employees.
    • Organizes assigned document development projects, collects project-related information and data from interview s with subject matter experts, and does literature research to support the project.
    • Works with graphics specialists to design and prepare illustrations, charts, and diagrams for use in documents.
    • Prepares technical information products for DOE approval to publish, assists authors in meeting DOE and publishers’ publication requirements, and coordinates technical information product duplication and distribution.
    • Says abreast of current trends in technical and scientific terminology developers to write more meaningful reports.
