  • Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in a computer related field, or equivalent training and experience.
    • Awareness of technical principles, theories, standards, practices, and procedures.
    • Desired working knowledge of Standardized Network Design, SCCM, Encryption, Microsoft Active Directory, Network Security, and Microsoft Windows to include system architecture, configuration, file system structures, and system management techniques.
    • Must have working technical knowledge of Microsoft Window environment including Microsoft Active Directory, Windows 7/10, and Microsoft Office.
    • Working knowledge of LAN/WAN infrastructure to include the understanding of ports and protocols.
    • Experience with emerging technology, such as cloud computing, desktop virtualization and unified communications.
    • Flexible and reliable worker, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
    • Virtual Desktop Environment such as VmWare View/VSphere experience or equivalent virtual environment.
    • Working knowledge of Desktop Security and Compliance i.e.; DISA STIGs.
    • Group Policy management and administration.
    • Linux, Mac, and scripting (PowerShell) experience is a plus.
    • Must have a valid driver’s license.

     

    Department of Energy Q Clearance (position will be cleared to this level). Reviews and tests for the absence of any illegal drug as defined in 10 CFR Part 707.4, “Workplace Substance Abuse Programs at DOE Sites,” will be conducted.  Applicant selected will be subject to a Federal background investigation, and subsequent reinvestigations, and must meet the eligibility requirements for access to classified matter. Successful completion of a counterintelligence evaluation, which may include a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination, may also be required. Reference 10 CFR Part 709, “Counterintelligence Evaluation Program.”

    Eligibility Requirements – To obtain a clearance, an individual must be a U.S. citizen at least 18 years of age. Reference DOE Order 472.2, “Personnel Security.” 

     

    Pre-placement physical examination, which includes a drug screen, is required. MSTS maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing.

    Responsibilities

    • Infrastructure Analyst for the MSTS Information Technology Integrated Clients Services in a Tiered III support role.
    • The Infrastructure Analyst monitors the performance of network systems in order to identify any issues. They routinely perform analysis during normal IT Infrastructure operation, including on networks, firewalls, servers, operating systems, applications and devices.
    • Once a plan has been formulated, Infrastructure Analysts either provide the plan to the IT team or work with them to implement the necessary upgrades, patches or troubleshooting to solve the problem. They document the changes and follow all change management procedures.
    • Infrastructure Analysts are responsible for proactively communicating desktop environment changes and risks to the change control board, and working with the workforce to smooth transitions and decrease any negative impact on business. 
    • The Infrastructure Analyst uses his up-to-date knowledge of IT infrastructure to identify opportunities to use emerging technology to increase efficiency and flexibility. They may formulate improvement plans and pitch them to leadership.
    • Promotes project and team management best practices for continuous improvement.
    • Perform related work as assigned by supervisor.
