  • Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in a business related field and 5 years’ of professional level experience, or equivalent training and experience.
    • Two years’ experience in Operations, Maintenance and Construction or in the Department of Energy Complex is highly desirable.
    • Must have experience in planning for multi-craft work force, performing material procurements, and post maintenance testing is a plus.
    • Must have good written and oral communications skills, and be able to deal with a diverse audience.
    • Must be willing to work non-standard hours due to emergency situations.
    • Must possess a valid driver's license.
    • Pre-placement physical examination, which includes a drug screen, is required. MSTS maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing.

     

    Department of Energy Q Clearance (position will be cleared to this level). Reviews and tests for the absence of any illegal drug as defined in 10 CFR Part 707.4, “Workplace Substance Abuse Programs at DOE Sites,” will be conducted. Applicant selected will be subject to a Federal background investigation, and subsequent reinvestigations, and must meet the eligibility requirements for access to classified matter. Successful completion of a counterintelligence evaluation, which may include a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination, may also be required. Reference 10 CFR Part 709, “Counterintelligence Evaluation Program.” Eligibility Requirements – To obtain a clearance, an individual must be a U.S. citizen at least 18 years of age. Reference DOE Order 472.2, “Personnel Security.”

    Responsibilities

    • This position interfaces with National Laboratory personnel, Maintenance personnel, Environmental Safety, Health and Quality (ESH&Q personnel, project managers, and craft personnel as needed to plan Type 1, 2, 3, and 4 work packages and control procedures
    • Responsible to determine job hazards, define appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to be used by workers, schedule tasks and project elements to eliminate interference’s and enhance the safe execution of work and to track and trend work packages for continuous improvement
    • Provide opportunities for improving the definition and planning of work as identified and implemented. 
    • Ensure work packages contain appropriate work instructions, proper forms, hazard identification and mitigation checklist, appropriate lessons learned, and other information as required to facilitate safe, secure, and quality work at the Remote Sensing Laboratory (RSL) Sites
    • Will participate in planning, staffing, scheduling activities: allocate resources to optimize team's effectiveness.
    • Must be able to assist Facility Manager to maintain an accurate Real Estate Operations Permit (REOP) database
    • Provide broad support during exercises, drills, and real world events; to include home team functions and/or deployable operational support
    • Perform related work as assigned by supervisor
