  • Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in related field and at least 2 years’ of professional level experience, which provided a sound working knowledge of administrative policies and procedures, or equivalent training and experience.
    • Must be highly organized to develop specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish assigned projects.
    • Must possess excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with internal and external contacts, representing the organization in a tactful, professional, and effective manner.
    • Ability to develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with team members and maintain them.
    • Proficiency in the use of software applications including Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat other administrative software.
    • Able to deal with pressure of handling multiple tasks, complaints, frequent interruptions, and time constraints.
    • Knowledge of basic math, grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
    • Pre-placement physical examination, which includes a drug screen, is required. MSTS maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing.
    • Must have a valid driver’s license

    Department of Energy Q Clearance (position will be cleared to this level). Reviews and tests for the absence of any illegal drug as defined in 10 CFR Part 707.4, “Workplace Substance Abuse Programs at DOE Sites,” will be conducted. Applicant selected will be subject to a Federal background investigation, and subsequent reinvestigations, and must meet the eligibility requirements for access to classified matter. Successful completion of a counterintelligence evaluation, which may include a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination, may also be required. Reference 10 CFR Part 709, “Counterintelligence Evaluation Program.”

     

    Eligibility Requirements – To obtain a clearance, an individual must be a U.S. citizen at least 18 years of age. Reference DOE Order 472.2, “Personnel Security.”

    Responsibilities

    This position will provide technical and administrative support primarily to Special Technologies Laboratory (STL) Mission Support Department but also provide support to the other STL departments on an as needed basis.

    • Provide security support to the STL Security Department. 
    • Support includes but is not limited to preparing and tracking classified visit requests, foreign travel documentation, badging paperwork, and security reports and plans. 
    • Assist with maintaining several databases including security badges, keys, classified matter, training and access control logs. 
    • Assist with preparing and participating in internal and external security audits, new hire orientations, security clearance orientations and internal and external notifications of clearance grants and terminations.
    • Will be trained and authorized to transmit purchase requisitions and P-card orders into the Purchasing database may also be trained to conduct P-card purchases.
    • Assist employees with preparing expense report, time card, and assisting managers in preparing conference rooms for visitors and meetings, agenda preparation, reports and other duties as required.
