  • Qualifications

    Bachelors' degree or equivalent training and experience, plus a minimum of 8 years of related and progressively responsible experience in an emergency, urgent care and/or primary care setting.

    • Board certification as Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
    • Nevada license preferred
    • Current certification in BLS and ACLS desirable
    • Experience providing medical support for mass casualty preparedness desirable
    • Ability to apply work knowledge to supervise others within the scope of the work environment
    • Familiarity with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) preferred
    • Willingness to work at and travel to remote work location(s)
    • Must have valid driver’s license
    • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language proficiently
    • Must possess interpersonal skills and ability to deal with ill, injured, and upset and uncooperative patients in a sensitive, effective and professional manner while screening and maintaining confidentiality


    Department of Energy Q Clearance (position will be cleared to this level). Reviews and tests for the absence of any illegal drug as defined in 10 CFR Part 707.4, “Workplace Substance Abuse Programs at DOE Sites,” will be conducted.  Applicant selected will be subject to a Federal background investigation, and subsequent reinvestigations, and must meet the eligibility requirements for access to classified matter. Successful completion of a counterintelligence evaluation, which may include a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination, may also be required. Reference 10 CFR Part 709, “Counterintelligence Evaluation Program.”

    Eligibility Requirements – To obtain a clearance, an individual must be a U.S. citizen at least 18 years of age. Reference DOE Order 472.2, “Personnel Security.” 


    Pre-placement physical examination, which includes a drug screen, is required. MSTS maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing.

    • Provide patient care services by independently and interdependently conducting complex diagnostic and therapeutic procedures within the scope of individual authority granted by the Nevada State Board of Nursing or the Nevada State Board of Medical Examiners.  Clinical responsibilities include:
    • Performance of comprehensive health histories, physical examinations, diagnostic laboratory determinations and development of comprehensive treatment plans
    • Oversee and facilitate the implementation of health surveillance criteria
    • Identify and track adverse health effects and facilitate follow-up health evaluations regarding those findings
    • Work closely with Industrial Hygiene staff to stay familiar with worker exposure and monitoring
    • Utilize training and expertise to determine and monitor employee work restrictions
    • Provide preventative, therapeutic, restorative and maintenance aspects of health care
    • Supervise day to day clinical operations and ensure schedules are kept
    • Assists the Clinical Services Director and Manager of Medical Operations in ensuring the implementation and compliance of all Occupational Medicine policies and procedures
    • Interface with outside departments to provide medical guidance
    • Supervise allied health personnel assigned as direct reports
