  • Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in a business related field and 2 years’ of professional level experience, or equivalent training and experience.
    • Background in a technical field is desired.
    • Able to utilize independent judgment, creativity, initiative, and ability to apply knowledge and experience to resolve problems and compose technical correspondence and reports.
    • Able to prioritize across multiple work activities.
    • Thorough knowledge of standard writing style guides. 
    • Familiar with MS Office applications. 
    • Experience/Certification with configuration management and software tools is desired.
    • Pre-placement physical examination, which includes a drug screen, is required. MSTS maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing.
    • Must have a valid driver’s license

    Department of Energy Q Clearance (position will be cleared to this level). Reviews and tests for the absence of any illegal drug as defined in 10 CFR Part 707.4, “Workplace Substance Abuse Programs at DOE Sites,” will be conducted.  Applicant selected will be subject to a Federal background investigation, and subsequent reinvestigations, and must meet the eligibility requirements for access to classified matter. Successful completion of a counterintelligence evaluation, which may include a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination, may also be required. Reference 10 CFR Part 709, “Counterintelligence Evaluation Program.”


    Eligibility Requirements – To obtain a clearance, an individual must be a U.S. citizen at least 18 years of age. Reference DOE Order 472.2, “Personnel Security.”

    • Plans, writes, edits, and proofreads documents ranging from simple to highly complex.  Documents include but are not limited to calibration reports, procedures, posters, presentations, published papers, and letters.
    • Perform records management and configuration management for Livermore Operations’ documents and engineering designs.
    • Assists with the development of work control documentation.
    • Ensures that all documents conform to established standards.
    • Monitors job progress and alerts supervisor when schedules may not be met.
    • Works as a part of Integrated Project Teams (IPT) and supports the team objectives relative to team expectations
