  • Qualifications


    • Bachelor's degree in a business or STEM field or equivalent training and experience and a minimum of 11 years of related and progressively responsible experience, or equivalent training and/or experience
    • Must have a minimum of 8 years in managing projects and/or large organizations.
    • Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) or Risk Management Professional (RMP) certification from a recognized, reputable institution or demonstrated equivalent experience
    • Ability to maintain a DOE security clearance.


    • Knowledge of business management principles involved in strategic planning, risk-based. planning, leadership, and managing resources
    • Ability to use software including strong skill and experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Visio). Ability to learn and use new software applications and tools.
    • Demonstrated meeting/workshop/forum facilitation.
    • Strong communication and presentation skills with all levels of the organization.
    • Ability to work independently, exercise judgement, take initiative, be creative, and be a problem solver.
    • Ability to prioritize and juggle different priorities and handle multiple activities.
    • Knowledge of business management principles involved in strategic planning, risk-based planning, leadership, and managing resources.
    • Ability to solve problems quickly and work well under time constraints.
    • Previous experience with federal government and federal contractors at a DOE/DOD site.
    • Pre-placement physical examination, which includes a drug screen, is required.  MSTS maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing.

    This position manages the enterprise risk and opportunities management program.


    Key Responsibilities:

    • Ensure consistency of management programs at the directorate and division (i.e. embedded) level.
    • Ensure risk reduction can be measured and reported at all levels.
    • Manage development and implementation of a multi-level risk assessment and management system, process, and tool.
    • Prepare for and facilitate enterprise management meetings.
    • Develop and provide training and educational materials.
    • Assist directorates and divisions with developing and implementing a consistent risk management program.
    • Ensure risk and opportunities registers are maintained.
    • Provide risk management education and awareness across organizations.
    • Support embedding risk-based thinking and management into daily operations, management, and project execution.
    • Enhance and standardize management for processes across projects and organizations.
    • Support organizations in training and mentoring risk integrators, coordinators, and owners, as well as executives.
    • Capture opportunities for improvement and ensure they are tracked as continuous improvement efforts and initiatives.
    • Maintain and update risk management SharePoint site.
    • Oversee an effective issues management program, including data analysis and trending.
    • Maintain the Commitments Management System (CMS).
    • Implement and maintain the Integrated Reporting Tool (IRT) for weekly organizational performance reporting.
