  • Qualifications

    • Associate degree in a technical field plus at least 13 years’ progressive related experience or High School diploma plus 15 years’ progressive related experience
    • Test flight experience is required.
    • Aerial frame design experience is a plus.
    • FAA 107 certification is a plus.

     

    Department of Energy Q Clearance (position will be cleared to this level). Reviews and tests for the absence of any illegal drug as defined in 10 CFR Part 707.4, “Workplace Substance Abuse Programs at DOE Sites,” will be conducted. Applicant selected will be subject to a Federal background investigation, and subsequent reinvestigations, and must meet the eligibility requirements for access to classified matter. Successful completion of a counterintelligence evaluation, which may include a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination, may also be required. Reference 10 CFR Part 709, “Counterintelligence Evaluation Program.”

     

    Eligibility Requirements – To obtain a clearance, an individual must be a U.S. citizen at least 18 years of age. Reference DOE Order 472.2, “Personnel Security

    Responsibilities

    THIS IS A CASUAL POSITION

    • Support national security initiatives in the use of unmanned aircraft systems (UAS).
    • Support the design and integration of UAS’s of opportunity.
    • Support the design, layout, testing, and deployment of UAS payloads.
    • Must be willing to participate in field experiments as part of the testing of the payloads.
    • Support and coordinate preliminary studies of job requirements, scope, design criteria and design concepts.
    • Plan and direct technologists and technicians in development of construction material control, reports, and literature review.
    • Support the research of concepts and approaches to the solution of complex technical problems.
    • Communicate effectively with team members and project managers, and to learn from senior staff.
